SIEGFRIED STREUFERT: LITERARY WRITING

Most of Dr. Streufert's writings have been scientific, including more than 400
Journal and other publications and ten books. Beyond the scientific focus of his
work, several articles and books were written for the general public. Aside from
some articles in magazines and newspapers, Siegfried wrote many short
stories, some of them autobiographic in nature, others fictional.  Several are
published in two books for the general public:
"Arch of Fire: A Child in Nazi
Germany"
(Aina Kail Books; published in the German language as
"
Drachenwind" by Ostsee Verlag) and "America!  America?" Both books
present a series of autobiographical stories that, taken together, sequentially
describe Siegfried's experiences from 1939 through his life in Amarillo and
Dallas, Texas (1959).  A third book "
The Katia Stories" again presents Siegfried
as a "story-teller," yet the stories in this most recent volume are fictional. Some
of them will surprise, others are whimsical and others are intended to be
thought provoking. A few sample stories from all three books follow below:
